CADwire.net has revealed the most searched for terms on its website during 2003.

Singling out the most popular companies shows that SolidWorks tops the most searched for company for the second consecutive year with Autodesk close behind.

Ashlar-Vellum, PTC and Sanyo round out the top five.

AutoCAD stood alone atop the list of most popular product names searched.

Inventor and SolidWorks finished second and third, respectively, with last year's winner Catia and Autodesk's Revit completing the top five list.

AutoCAD's move from number four on the 2002 list, to number one on the 2003 list was the most significant among the leaders.

CADwire.net total searches grew by 115% in 2003, and the total number of unique search terms grew by 120%.

"The continued growth in the number of searches being performed on our site is a testament to its usefulness", said Rick Stavanja, Editor-in-Chief of CADwire.net.

"This type of examination of what our users look for is certainly an important indicator in monitoring the ever-changing pulse of the overall CAD industry".
