Camcon Technology has won the Business Excellence Award from Cambridge Evening News.
Camcon Technology has won the Business Excellence Award from Cambridge Evening News.
Four finalists including Brainjuicer, Daniolabs and TeraView competed for the first prize, which was awarded to Camcon on 18th March, 2004.
Camcon won in the Business Innovation category, which recognises a company's initiative in terms of innovation, research and development of new products, processes or services.
The Cambridge Evening News win follows Camcon's receipt of a prestigious Innovation Award in January 2004 from the East of England Energy Group.
Camcon received the award for its energy-efficient rolling-swing valve.
"For Camcon, the opportunities are without boundary", said Danny Chapchal, Chairman of Camcon.
"How often do you come across a technology that can reduce jet engine noise by 90% and revolutionise recovering patients' mobility.
I believe that Camcon has a unique potential of entirely changing the face of today's industries".
Inventor Wladyslaw Wygnanski founded Camcon in 2000 as a vehicle to support the development and commercialisation of the Camcon binary actuator.
The high-speed, low energy consumption, low heat dissipation and long life characteristics of the Camcon binary actuator mean that it has applications in a whole new range of areas, as well as being a replacement for existing actuator and valve technologies.
"It was a great pleasure to have received the Business Innovation Award from Cambridge Evening News", said Wladyslaw Wygnanski, Managing Director, Camcon Technology.
"The recognition of our efforts to establish Camcon technology as an innovative alternative to existing industry standards is always invaluable".
