Actuators just keep on going
A pair of Camcon's novel binary actuators has completed more than 11.5 billion operations in laboratory trials.
IVA provides a compact, low cost, low power consumption mechanism that can improve engine combustion efficiency.
It enhances engine performance and fuel economy, while enabling reduced emissions from the engine.
IVA lets each valve of the engine be independently controlled.
It supports a number of lift positions and allows for energy recovery to support low power consumption.
As a result, it provides low seating velocities to ensure durability and low noise.
"IVA is a disruptive technology with the potential to change fundamentally the car engine for first time in 90 years," said Ian Anderson, Chief Operating Officer, Camcon.
"As such it is imperative that we can assure patent protection for our customers in their local territories".
The company already holds the IVA patent in Australia, China, Japan, Korea, India, Thailand, Russia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the US.
