Tiny stroke from piezo actuators

A Cedrat product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 14, 2000

Cedrat's APAs, or Amplified Piezo Actuators, have a contraction is proportional to the applied voltage, up to 1% at 200V.

The APAs are Amplified Piezo Actuators whose contraction is proportional to the applied voltage, up to 1% at 200V.

Depending on the products, their stroke reaches 50 to 500microns for heights of 10 to 50mm.

Their stiffness of 0.2 to 5N/micron induces large forces and short response time.

For instance the 10mm-high APA100S produces a stroke of 100microns and a force of 20N.

These actuators are made for purpose of micro positioning and generation or damping of vibrations.
