Program dedicated to optimisation of motor cooling
Motor-CAD, the worlds first software package dedicated to the optimisation of motor cooling, is now available through Cedrat, which produces the electromagnetic software packages, Flux-2d and Flux-3d
As a first result of these efforts, netlists in Spice format can now be integrated into Portunus simulations in a similar way to all other model types available in Portunus.
Special features such as an integrated netlist editor with syntax colouring and the improvements in the library management make the import as easy as possible.
The new version of Portunus also features a major update to the Thermal Library, which has been expanded with new models to calculate the heat transfer within cylinders, power electronic devices and heatsinks.
New components can be used for the coupling of electrical and thermal simulations.
Improvements in the graphical user interface now allow the complete parameterisation of models from the Thermal Library.
With this feature the effects of geometry variations can be investigated automatically using the parameter variation options offered by Portunus.
The implementation of new models for the simulation of translational movement expands the Portunus capabilities in terms of mechanical systems.
This is accompanied with the new ability to handle three-dimensional lookup tables and it is especially useful for the modelling of electromechanical systems.
A trial version of Portunus 2.1 is available for free download.
