The University of Durham is accepting registrations for a week-long short industrial course on "Human resource issues and change management".

This course is designed for those wishing to develop their people and change management skills.

Under a general theme: "the lifetime of the employee", the course deals with important aspects of people management and development as well as an appreciation of the problems of change implementation within an organisation.

Each topic is given in the context of the employer/employee relationship with emphasis on using best practice in every area.

The course is industrially orientated (based within local companies) and makes extensive use of industrial speakers and practitioners.

Due to the context and practical examples used the course is directed mainly at those in the Engineering/Manufacturing sectors, but there are issues relevant to anyone dealing with employees at any level.

For delegates whose work schedules do not enable a full week's attendance, there will be limited opportunities for the days to be taken separately.

The cost the each course is GBP 1200 (VAT exempt).

SMEs should be eligible for funding, typically 50% of cost, from local funding support organisations (please ask for further details.) The content of each day is "free standing" and can be taken on its own at a charge of GBP 250.
