The University of Durham is accepting registrations for a week-long short industrial course, "Business improvement through quality: a six sigma approach", to be held from 14th to 18th March 2005.

This course has been developed over a number of years by CIAM to enable the extensive bottom line improvement (pioneered by Motorola under the banner six sigma) to be taught and applied by managers and engineers.

The course makes extensive use a unique hands-on simulation/game to consolidate the learning.

The course is industrially based and makes extensive use of on-site facilities, industry professionals and structured discussions with host company management.

For delegates whose work schedules do not enable a full week's attendance, there will be limited opportunities for the days to be taken separately.

The cost for each course is GBP 1200 (VAT exempt).

SMEs should be eligible for funding, typically 50% of cost, from local funding support organisations.
