Electromagnetic clutch handles high torques

A Centa Transmissions product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 15, 2008

A Centa flanged bearing housing with an output shaft supported by tapered roller bearings protects the crankshaft, extending the device's lifetime and cutting maintenance needs.

The Centa Clutch Pack provides an electromagnetic shiftable clutch which covers a torque range of up to 7kNm.

The combination of a flexible torsional coupling with an electromagnetic shifting clutch and a flanged bearing housing ensure that the drive unit is reliably engaged or disengaged.

It is suitable for ship propulsion with propellers as well as waterjets, screw compressors and generators.

The Centa Clutch Pack is a combination of three reliable components designed for diesel engine drives.

It consists of a robust and flexible torsional CentaFlex-R coupling with progressive characteristic designed to compensate for torsional vibrations and misalignments.

Another important element is the simple robust, dry running electromagnetic pole-face friction clutch for engaging and disengaging.

A Centa flanged bearing housing with an output shaft supported by tapered roller bearings protects the crankshaft, extending the device's lifetime and cutting maintenance needs.

The coupling provides a cost-efficient alternative to conventional hydraulic couplings when used for pumping sets, generators and screw compressors.
