The SafeC 400 multifunction safety relay is the latest addition to the Cedes product line.

The SafeC 400 multifunction safety relay is the latest addition to the Cedes product line.

With dimensions of only 112 x 105 x 135mm and the possibility to connect up to 10 safety components, such as multiple light curtains, emergency stop and start buttons, muting lamps and sensors, door-safety switches, two-hand controls and many more, plus an integrated height measuring function which can actually manage both safety and measuring using the same Cedes light curtains, the SafeC 400 safety relay has emerged as a true all-rounder.

The multifunction SafeC 400 relay takes over the machine safety monitoring of a complete control cabinet.

Furthermore, the SafeC 400 has three separate interfaces: an optical interface for easy configuration of tasks, an RS485 interface for the fast transmission of data for height measuring, and the Cedes-extension bus for connecting to further safety modules.

The SafeC 400 has up to eight relay outputs, each with a switching capacity of 2000VA.

Naturally.

safety relevant transistor outputs are provided, and these can be used, for instance, to directly switch more powerful relays.

Status information for all components is available as PNP outputs for direct connection to a PLC.

Thanks to its compact design, the SafeC 400 is especially suited to smaller control cabinets, for instance in automated handling/packaging machines, presses, and semiconductor and textile machines.

Thanks to the use of the latest technology in the new Cedes safety relay, the costs have been kept extremely low.

Together with experienced Cedes knowhow in the field of safety technology, this new product promises a truly flexible solution in machine safety applications.
