Light curtains protect in hazardous areas
Cedes offers two monitoring systems which are amongst the smallest in their class in the world.
Safety devices provide compact solution
Using SafeCIS3 controller with the Safe400 safety light curtain provides a compact and economical safety solution with finger protection.
Diverse safety equipment like a two-hand controller and a mechanical safety catch ensure safe operation of the guillotine.
The loading area is monitored by the Safe400 safety light curtain.
With a cross-section of just 15 x 20mm, the Safe400 is the smallest safety light curtain available on the market that fulfils safety category 4 according to EN 954-1.
Due to its compact size, the Safe400 fits perfectly into smaller machines without having to compromise functionality or design.
The safety light curtain emitter and receiver are built into a customised mounting frame that is mounted above the machine table.
Wohlenberg procures the mounting frame with the pre-installed Safe400 emitter and receiver as a complete component from Cedes in Rheinhausen (Germany) Wohlenberg employ the Cedes SafeC 400 safety controller.
Alongside monitoring the Safe400 safety light curtain, it also monitors all the other safety components, such as the two-hand controller and emergency stop button..
For Wohlenberg, using the SafeC 400 controller simplifies cabling significantly.
Furthermore, integration of multiple relays can be eliminated, which additionally increases reliability and economic efficiency.
To backfit existing machinery with the Safe400 safety light curtain, the new SafeCIS3 safety controller is used.
The compact size (22.5 x 111 x 110mm) and ease of installation of this system allows Wohlenberg to carry out the installation quickly and economically.
According to the design manager Wilfried Elsner of Wohlenberg Schneidsysteme said "We immediately felt that Cedes understood our needs".
"And the result of this working partnership is without question more than we expected!",.
