Object 100 has high capture speed

A Cedes product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 28, 2008

Cedes has revealed how a Germany-based warehouse lift system manufacturer has utilised the Object 100 measuring light curtain to measure the height of goods carriers.

Haenel, based in Bad Friedrichshall, uses the Object 100 measuring light curtain in its Lean Lift warehouse lift series.

Object 100 has a high capture speed and copes well with the speed at which goods are moved.

Its high scan rate reliably captures objects of a diameter of just 5mm.

The compact profile cross-section of 15 x 20mm means such a system can be integrated in the off- and on-loading warehouse area.

Object 100 has a special lens transmitting light rays precisely from transmitter to receiver strip.

Unwanted reflection of light rays caused by bare metal surfaces can therefore be excluded.

The lens element gaps can be adjusted using various pitches (10, 25, 37.5 and 75mm).

These pitches and the range of 4 m permit optical adjustment of the capture area to the varying dimensions of the warehouse lift system/s.

The short module length of 50mm yields the best possible harmonisation of light curtain system length and removal aperture height.

Cedes provides a number of interfaces for communication with the machinery control system including CAN and RS 485.

Haenel uses a binary handshake interface for data transmission.

This permits them to modify older systems by simply and easily adding the new one and integrating it.
