Subcon seminar programme extended
Four free seminars added to programme for subcontract manufacturing services show at Birmingham's NEC from 16th to 18th May.
Four more top level presentations have been confirmed for Subcon's commissioned free seminar programme These complement previously confirmed sessions on best practice, global sourcing and sourcing strategy from organisations including Rolls-Royce, JCB, Envirowise and Accelerate

ABB has published an "ATEX jargon buster" that helps motor users cut through the jungle of terms and definitions that make up the new ATEX Directives.
Subcon takes place in hall 3A at the NEC, Birmingham, from 16th to 18th May and aims to make sourcing suppliers easy for any buyer of subcontract manufacturing services.
Subcon's scope extends beyond the traditional areas of machining and metal forming to cover all aspects of subcontract manufacture, including areas such as electrical and electronic assembly, design and development, surface engineering, plastic moulding, casting, forging and rapid prototyping.
The latest addition to the best practice stream is a presentation by Adrian Doughty, Supplier Quality and Development Manager, Paccar Europe, an international manufacturer of trucks under the Leyland, Daf, Peterbilt and Foden nameplates.
Doughty will be looking at the whole area of supply chain groups - what they are, who pays for them, and how they help eliminate waste, add value and bring other benefits to the business.
Two presentations are adding more weight to the global sourcing sessions.
Patrick Gilabert, Programme Manager for the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation's subcontract exchange supply chain centres, will be looking at global trends in outsourcing and how to work with the centres.
He will give case studies from India, China, South America and the Middle East.
Nearer to home, Hana Chlebna of Czech Invest will be looking at the investment environment in the Czech Republic.
Finally, with the appearance at the show of the world water speed record attempt boat, Quicksilver, Subcon is hosting a technical presentation on the engineering background to the attempt.
Daniel Ruiz, Technical Programme Director, will explain how the project plans to deliver levels of performance in an extreme environment using collaborative techniques and balancing commercial and technical imperatives to develop a closely integrated supply chain and production team.
The seminar sessions are free to attend with places bookable online and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
