Manufacturing companies can access advice and assistance for starting up, enlarging or relocating, thanks to a collaboration between three UK consultants - Ceram Consulting Group, MPCG and White Young Green.

They have formed the Workspace alliance to provide clients with a portfolio of services from initial project conception to operational start-up.

It also protects the client from the costs of managing complex contractor relationships and task management.

Between them, the three partners draw on a resource pool of some 2000 experienced engineers, business managers and manufacturing specialists.

Ceram Consulting Group is skilled in mapping and simulating manufacturing processes and in integrating process design with the shop-floor layout and with a pre-architectural design.

White Young Green provides architectural, civil and structural engineering, M and E services, project costing and project realisation services to ensure that the building is constructed to a high standard, on time, within budget and in compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

MPCG helps firms deliver sustainable organisational change and offers strategic and operational personnel support, along with business IT systems, manufacturing process analysis, design and implementation management.

Graham Small of Ceram said: "The Workspace team is able to work with clients from a variety of backgrounds and with a wide range of interests".

"For SME start-up businesses, it is able to start with initial concepts for a manufacturing facility, to seeing the project through to a fully resourced and operational production unit".

"We can also help companies apply for a range of grants to offset the costs of a new development".

"Organisations wishing to relocate an existing facility to new premises can also benefit from a complete review of their process technology and production layout".
