Connectix has a new pre-connectorised Cat 5 and Cat 6 cabling system that offers Tier 4 data centre resilience coupled with top-end performance and at a remarkably low price.

The system, known as Connectix Express, does away with cumbersome cassette-based terminations by using an industry-leading slimline RJ45 socket.

These sockets are simply clipped into a 1U frame at the patch panel rack location and into a wall or floor socket at the other end.

For data centres, where time really is of the essence, the link would go from patch panel to patch panel.

Connectix is also offering a 10Gbit/s Ethernet augmented Category 6 cable variant of Connectix Express, and will be the first manufacturer to offer such an advanced system in a preconnectorised cable assembly format.

Utilising screened cable to overcome all alien crosstalk and EMC/EMI regulatory problems, this Cat 6A system will make life much easier and more predictable for the data centre manager.

Installation times, with Connectix Express, will be cut by around 75% compared with conventional cabling techniques, and performance will be guaranteed for gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel, ATM power over Ethernet, VoIP and any Class D, E and EA protocols of the future.
