CGTech Ships VERICUT 5.0

CGTech has released VERICUT software version 5.0.

CGTech has released VERICUT software version 5.0 The new version features integrated material removal and machine tool simulation and dynamic manipulation of the cut model

Also new in Version 5 is new technology which enables users to export an "as-machined" solid model in a format that can be used in CAD programs.

VERICUT is software that can virtually eliminate the process of manually proving-out NC programs by simulating the machining process on a computer.

The program uses G-codes or direct CAM output (APT) to simulate milling, drilling, turning, wire EDM, and mill/turn machining operations.

With VERICUT, NC programmers can correct errors and remove inefficient motion before sending part programs to the shop.

VERICUT 5.0's enhanced technology enables users to accurately simulate entire CNC machine tools and the complete machining process, integrated with material removal - long considered to be the "holy grail" in NC verification software.

This capability makes VERICUT the most accurate and realistic NC simulation product available in today's market.

Users can choose to view just the cutting tool and workpiece, or the complete machining environment including the machine tool and fixtures.

The views and orientation can be changed at any time during the machining process.

In addition to machine tool simulation with material removal, VERICUT V5 provides the ability to fully manipulate the size, orientation, and position (zoom/rotate/pan) of the simulated cut workpiece at any time during the machining process.

Since the invention of the first NC machine tools, NC programming languages, and CAD/CAM systems, manufacturing engineers have needed an accurate electronic model of the initial and in-process state of material.

It is difficult to confidently create tool paths for each subsequent operation without an accurate representation of the material at the start of the operation.

The operation's accuracy, efficiency and "correctness" depend on the material's initial geometric shape.

VERICUT 5.0 features the ability to produce an accurate CAD model (either IGES or STL; native CAD formats are planned for future releases) from an "as-machined" solid.

The model includes machined features such as holes, fillets, corner radii, pocket floors, walls, etc.

This is an emerging technology in NC verification that fills a void in today's CAD/CAM machining processes.

The user starts with a tool path file (G-code or APT; created in any CAM system or manual programming method).

With that tool path file, VERICUT cuts the part just as would occur on the real CNC machine.

At any point in the machining process, the user can stop and export the cut part as a solid model.

He can then import that model back into a CAD program to perform a variety of tasks. Request a free brochure from CGTech ...
