Simulate entire machine tools with latest software
Machining simulation software Vericut Version 5.1 adds the ability to simulate and verify mill-turn machining and simultaneously displays the entire machine tool and cut stock
CGTech will demonstrate Vericut Version 5.1 at EMO 2001 on stand number E61 Hall 15 in Hanover, Germany.
Vericut Version 5.1 adds the ability to simulate and verify mill-turn machining and simultaneously displays the entire machine tool and cut stock.
The product also supports 4-axis merged (synchronised) turning operations.
Vericut is software that enables users to virtually eliminate the process of manually proving-out NC programs by simulating the material removal process on a computer.
The program uses G-codes or CAM output data to simulate milling, drilling, turning, wire EDM, and mill/turn machining operations.
With Vericut, NC programmers can correct errors and remove inefficient motion before sending part programs to the shop.
In Vericut 5.1, users can record.AVI movies of simulated CNC machining operations.
AVI movies can be linked to HTML pages or other electronic documents to show operators what to expect from the NC program, for training, to enhance documentation, for product demonstrations, and for marketing presentations.
Creating tools in Vericut 5.1 has been simplified with a "tree table" feature that enables users to graphically build tool assemblies and special cutter shapes as well as copy and paste entire tools or portions of tools into other tools.
Vericut includes a complete library of standard cutting tools.
All cutters can be easily modified.
Holders can be specified as "non-cutting" portions of the tool to check for holder collisions.
Vericut supports concave bottom, or non-centre cutting end mills (such as carbide insert end mills) so users can take full advantage of their machine tools without fear of destroying the cutter due to an incorrect ramp motion.
Vericut 5.1 supports multiple independent stock models.
This allows for multiple or staged set-ups.
Each stock model can move independently.
Multiple simultaneous cutters can also be simulated.
The feature enhancements in Vericut 5.1 are complemented by a significant performance increase of between 15% and 40% in simulation speed.
Vericut 5.1 fully support multiple processors.
Vericut 5.1 features the ability to produce an accurate CAD model (IGES or STL) from an "as-machined" solid - complete with features such as holes, fillets, corner radii, pocket floors, walls, etc.
This is an emerging technology in NC verification that fills a void in today's CAD/CAM machining processes.
Since the invention of the first NC machine tools, NC programming languages, and CAD/CAM systems, manufacturing engineers have needed an accurate electronic model of the initial and in-process state of material.
It's difficult to confidently create tool paths for each subsequent operation without an accurate representation of the material at the start of the operation.
The operation's accuracy, efficiency and "correctness" depend on the material's initial geometric shape.
With this tool, engineers can more easily perform a variety of tasks including process planning, reverse engineering and using legacy data.
Vericut 5.1 features new technology that enables users to simulate entire CNC machine tools and the complete machining process - integrated with material removal.
This capability makes Vericut the most accurate and realistic NC simulation product available in today's market.
Vericut 5.1 provides a unique unification of Vericut's accurate and reliable tool-and-part verification and machine tool simulation.
Users can choose to view just the cutting tool and work piece, or the complete machining environment including the machine tool and fixtures.
The views and orientation can be changed at any time during the machining process.
In addition to machine tool simulation with material removal, Vericut supports the ability to fully manipulate the size, orientation, and position (zoom/rotate/pan) of the simulated cut work piece at any time during the machining process.
Vericut runs under Windows 95/98/NT/2000 and UNIX.
