Screw and nut protection looks good too

A Challenge (Europe) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 15, 2000

The Korrex range of protective caps is now available from Challenge Industrial Fastenings, as protective caps for socket head screws and nut caps for hexagon nuts, which convert them to dome nuts

The Korrex range of protective caps is now available from market leading fastener company, Challenge Industrial Fastenings Ltd.

They are supplied in two forms - protective caps for socket head screws and nut caps for hexagon nuts, which convert them to dome nuts.

They can also be used for hexagon headed bolts and set screws.

Korrex caps provide a clean aesthetic appearance to finished products, which is particularly important in the manufacture of goods for the consumer market, such as in the white goods industry.

But appearance is not everything! These caps also help protect threaded fasteners from the ingress of corrosive and contaminating elements.

This protection reduces maintenance time in a number of applications, by eliminating the need to clean fasteners before being able to remove them.

This protection is also valuable in the manufacture of goods that are to be painted.

Once the product is complete, the addition of protective caps before painting prevents threads from becoming clogged and difficult to remove.

Both types of Korrex caps are manufactured in highest quality polyethylene, and can withstand temperatures from -50C to +100C.

They can be re-used many times.

Protective caps for socket head screws are available in metric sizes M5 - M22 and imperial 3/16" to 7/8".

Grey and green are standard, and other colours can be supplied to special order.

The Korrex nut caps are available in black, white and grey in a range of sizes from M4 to M36 or 5/32" to 13/8".
