Challenge Industrial Fastenings has a particular feeling for the humble woodscrew, which has a special place, even in today's hi-tech environment.

Its ubiquitous nature and the huge variety of types and materials available often leave engineers and buyers in difficulty to know exactly what is appropriate - Challenge can help, even with associated products such as plastic wall plugs.

The Challenge range includes hardened twin thread steel screws, generally bright zinc finish (also zinc and yellow dichromate) and in imperial or metric sizes for compacted boards.

Traditional woodscrews with single thread are offered for use in wood.

Materials are predominantly steel, brass and stainless steel.

Also available are naval brass, A4 stainless steel and bronze.

Ex-stock sizes from no.2 to no.14 (metric 3mm to 6mm) cover head forms of countersunk, raised countersunk, round head, slotted and cross recessed.

Typically applications may be for hardened twin threaded screws to be machine fitted or for hand assembly in furniture, cabinet making, joinery or pattern making.

There are dry wall screws for fixing plasterboard to timber frames, carcass screws for furniture home assembly kits, mirror screws, window fixing screws (e.g., for double glazing), composite board serrated thread screws, and square headed (or metric hexagon head) coach screws for many applications.
