Couplings offer alternative to Rotex
The Roplex range provides direct equivalents to KTR Rotex couplings.
The company is based in Sroda Weilkapolska, one and half hours from the Germany border on a 35,000m2 site.
400 chain-making machines are used in the production, including Italian Sacmas (roller production), German Hilgelands (pin production), Swiss Feintool machines (fine blanking), UK heat treatment equipment and many German Union and MAS assembly machines.
100 staff, some with more than 30 years experience, work in the factory producing the following range of chains: timing chains (Limots has been supplying Fiat since 1972 and nearly 14 million sets have already been delivered with additional supplies to other automotive manufacturers); roller chains from 9.35 to 250mm pitch; standard and special conveyor chains; rubber top chain; attachment chain of many types; leaf chains; and chain used in food, timber and chemical industries.
(There are even helicopters flying using Limots precision chain).
This investment by Challenge is to further expand the company's production of high quality chains and position itself firmly in the European market.
Production at Limots will be expanded to include a wider range of conveyor and attachment chains.
Many chain companies in Europe have closed over the last 25 years as cheaper chains imported from the East have eroded their competitiveness leaving only a handful of companies, Limots being one of the last.
It is the intention of Challenge to reverse this trend in Limots and rebuild production, shorten delivery times and provide a high level of service to its existing and new customer base.
Challenge is exhibiting again in Hanover from 16th to 20th April 2007 (Hall 25 Stand A02) where technical and sales staff from Limots will be joining the stand to demonstrate some of the products manufactured.
