New UK audit standard for gas mass flow
A flight-cased gas flow audit standard has been delivered by Chell Instruments to the National Engineering Laboratory, East Kilbride, holder of the UK's National Standard for flow.
A flight-cased gas flow audit standard has been delivered by Chell Instruments to the National Engineering Laboratory, East Kilbride, holder of the UK's National Standard for flow It will be used to provide audit checks of the flow performance of accredited laboratories throughout the UK The standard consists of two molbloc precision laminar flow elements, each in series with a 300 Series Hastings thermal mass flow controller (MFC)

A revolution in hydraulic pressure calibration
The new PPCH pressure controller/calibrator from DH Instruments generates hydraulic pressures conveniently and quickly using air at only 100lb/in2 maximum input.
The molbloc has become the standard of choice throughout the world for mass flow - it provides extremely high repeatability of its fundamental, gravimetric calibration.
Data from the molblocs is handled by DH Instruments' molbox, where all the fundamental gas physical constants are held in memory and applied as the measurement is made.
The management of the molblocs and MFC's is handled by a molbox in series with an MFC Switchbox, so that flows of known rate and uncertainty may be established without operator influence.
This independence from operator variables is largely created by the very high reproducibility of the molblocs and renders the system ideal for use as an audit standard.
