Composite diaphragms help keep pumps sealed

A Chemical Process Solutions product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 10, 2006

Air driven diaphragm pumps feature novel composite diaphragms that are sealed by a unique labyrinth seal arrangement, which does not require any additional sealing.

Chemical Process Solutions' air driven diaphragm pump range is equipped with unique composite diaphragms.

The surface of the diaphragms is smooth and they are sealed by a unique labyrinth seal arrangement, which does not require any additional sealing.

Thanks to the integrated metal core, they do not require diaphragm discs which frequently give rise to leaks and attracts dirt on traditional other diaphragm designs.

The diaphragms have were originally designed from the PTFE point of view, which has resulted in a large diameter and short stroke with low flexural load.

This ensures uniform delivery regardless of the material of the diaphragm, unlike other traditional diaphragm designs where capacities are reduce when using PTFE.

The diaphragms available EPDM, NBR or PTFE and are ATEX and FDA approved.
