Chloride's Power Protection Location Case UPS suits applications rated from 200VA to 3kVA with battery support times of up to 12 hours.

Chloride has expanded its range of critical rail application UPS systems with the introduction of its Power Protection Location Case UPS.

This new unit offers a fully self contained battery backed single-phase AC power source ideal for all types of railway signalling and telecommunications applications.

Batteries and UPS systems need to be housed in a dry, temperature-controlled environment to ensure they give long and reliable service.

The new network rail approved system provides a cost-effective alternative to a brick building or walk-in weatherproof re-locatable equipment building (REB).

It's ideal for applications rated from 200VA to 3kVA with battery support times of up to 12 hours.

Its overall power availability is enhanced by two separate automatic system bypass circuits providing several different means of ensuring that power is maintained to the critical system load at all times.

The Location Case UPS is designed to operate for long periods of time in isolated locations and operators will need to know if the system is operating satisfactorily.

It has an individual LED lamp to give local status indication and volt free contacts are included to enable the following functions to be indicated remotely: common alarm; UPS in bypass; mains fail; system in bypass; battery charger fault; and fan fail.
