Cinchseal 7800 rotary shaft seal prevents leaks

A CinchSeal product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 8, 2009

Cinchseal has released the Cinchseal 7800 series rotary shaft seal for the food and chemical-processing industries.

The 7800 series, which is made from solid 316 SS, eliminates leakage, doesn't damage shafts and reduces power consumption on bulk material-handling equipment that processes dry and slurry material.

The new 7800 series Cinchseal meets all CEMA dimensions and can be easily mounted to screw conveyors or to accommodate flange-mounted bearings.

The 7800 series Cinchseal replaces waste pack housings and packing on horizontal, inclined or vertical screw conveyors.

Five CEMA sizes are available, ranging from 1.5 to 3.437in (38.1 to 87.3mm).

Abrasive products, axial runout, high temperatures, speeds and pressures all create problems for waste pack housings and other seals.

The 7800 series will handle caustic washdowns, temperatures up to 500F (260C) and up to 1/4in (6.35mm) shaft run out.
