Centric Software announced that it has licensed both the fat-client Windows version and the latest JAVA based thin-client solution from Cimmetry.
The JAVA version will allow users of Centric Software's products to view, annotate and collaborate on 2D engineering documents over the Internet.
The thin-client aspect means that installation and upkeep only occurs on the server side, not on the client side, allowing for ease of deployment and maintenance.
"After a thorough evaluation of several 2D viewing and markup solutions in the marketplace, the flexibility afforded us by Cimmetry's technology made them a clear choice." said Ron Watson, Director of Product Management at Centric Software.
"Their comprehensive file format support along with industry leading markup capabilities provides one more compelling reason for our customers to use Centric's CVPD (Collaborative Virtual Product Development) Solutions."
