Users of Documentum 4i can now access their documents from the vault, view them and mark them up without ever leaving the Documentum environment, using AutoVue and Panoramic! for Java

Cimmetry Systems has announced that its AutoVue and Panoramic! for Java products now integrate with Documentum 4i AutoVue and Panoramic! for Java are Cimmetry's answer to the growing need for web based viewing and collaboration on various types of documentation

Like Cimmetry's flagship product AutoVue, the thin-client Java version supports over 200 formats, ranging from office documents such as MS Office, PDF and TIFF to engineering formats such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, ME-10 and CADKEY.

For those that do not require engineering support, Panoramic! for Java offers support for over 150 business and graphics formats.

The thin-client versions retain AutoVue Professional's full feature set, including markup entities, viewing/manipulation functions and access to embedded and linked information.

Users of Documentum 4i can now access their documents from the vault, view them and mark them up without ever leaving the Documentum environment.

Cimmetry's Java technology allows the full range of supported formats to be viewed and annotated from within a Web browser such as MSIE or Netscape Navigator.

Markups are saved as separate files, never altering the original drawing, and via the integration, saved back into the Documentum file structure.

"Cimmetry Systems was the very first developer of visualization software to support RightSite, Documentum's original initiative in Web based delivery of documents.

From browser plug-in to Java applet, from RightSite to 4i, we continue and will continue to provide our trademark tight integration and strong interoperability, which have made this solution the worldwide standard for engineering and technical document environments in the Documentum space." said Alain Danik, Business Development Manager at Cimmetry.

"And with our Panoramic! for Java application, Cimmetry brings the same acclaimed viewing and annotation technology to 4i users who need access to standard business documents, without the engineering and CAD formats." The integrations between the Web based AutoVue and Documentum solutions are a continuation of Cimmetry's tradition of extending the functionality of Documentum's product line.

An integration between the standalone versions of these products has existed for several years and has been implemented by many Documentum users.

Cimmetry's out-of-the-box integrations are developed in-house by Cimmetry Systems and are distributed under the name of VueLink.
