New collaboration software to support MicroStation

A Cimmetry Systems product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 4, 2001

Bentley released MicroStation v8 on October 23rd, and Cimmetry Systems has announced that AutoVue v16, its pending release, will support MicroStation v8.

Cimmetry Systems has announced that AutoVue v16, Cimmetry's pending release, will support MicroStation v8.

"Cimmetry, once again, is first to market with native MicroStation support in its latest AutoVue offering," stated Pam Petropoulos, at Cimmetry Systems.

"It is a tradition, and a strongly-held commitment, here at Cimmetry to deliver the most current support for the file formats that our customers are using and thus not allow the viewing capability to be outpaced by the authoring applications." Bentley released MicroStation v8 on October 23rd, and now, barely one month later, Cimmetry's AutoVue supports this format.

As MicroStation users are aware, Bentley has completely reworked the DGN format with this release.

Hence v8 reduces or removes many of the limitations and constraints of last-generation design packages.

AutoVue 16 supports the new features in DGN v8 including: * Design and sheet models.

* Unlimited number of levels, references, graphic groups and text nodes.

* Extended line string, shape, or point curves.

* Unlimited cell definition and cell name size.

* Increased text string size.

* Unlimited number of saved views and extended parameters in saved views.

* Unique element identifiers and time stamps.

* Unlimited number of components in complex chains or shapes.

* And other features - "Cimmetry's reputation is built in part on our long history of delivering to our end users significant added functionality and format support with each release," added Ms.

Petropoulos.

"Though significant in and of itself, the MicroStation v8 support is only one of the many new features and formats in AutoVue 16.

Our development team has done it again, making 16 one of the most important releases of AutoVue ever." The 16 release of AutoVue will be announced shortly.
