MatrixOne and Cimmetry collaborate
MatrixOne is to provide Cimmetry's visualisation and collaboration capabilities to its customers through its core collaboration platform, eMatrix.
MatrixOne is to provide Cimmetry's visualisation and collaboration capabilities to its customers through its core collaboration platform, eMatrix MatrixOne, the leading provider of product collaboration solutions for the value chain, will offer AutoVue from Cimmetry, the leader in visualisation and collaboration solutions for the A/E/C, engineering, manufacturing, and electronics markets, as a means of providing customers and their supply chains access to web-based, real-time, visual collaboration early in the design phase to improve engineering products and processes
"Our thin-client technology stands alone on the market as the only full-featured, server-based visualisation and collaboration solution for native 2D and 3D product data", said Brian Strasser, business development manager at Cimmetry.
"By integrating the AutoVue technology with the eMatrix platform, MatrixOne has provided users with an unprecedented level of access to their data, while retaining all the benefits of the thin-client platform".
"Visualisation of product intent is an added value to any company collaborating internally, or across the value chain, particularly in the early innovation phase of the product lifecycle", said Mark Bierschied, director, integrated e-Business solutions at MatrixOne.
"MatrixOne has long provided a complete portfolio of choices for visualisation over the past years.
By partnering with Cimmetry, we are providing our customers with a 100% thin-client focused solution that is tightly integrated with our Value Chain Portfolio applications.
This will securely allow better visual collaboration across the supply chain, greatly enhancing our customers' ability to bring the right products to market in the quickest manner possible".
Howard Lin, director of corporate development at E2open, the leading global collaboration network for the electronics industry using MatrixOne and Cimmetry solutions, said: "MatrixOne's Team Central and Cimmetry's AutoVue are integral components in E2open's collaboration services.
The relationship announced today between both companies is extremely positive for the PLM industry, as customers will be getting the visualisation component as an integral part of their total PLM solution".
In a published article, Dee Sandford, PDM manager at Autoliv, a $4 billion air-bag and seat belt manufacturer, and a MatrixOne customer using AutoVue, said: "AutoVue is clearly a critical part of our PDM solution.
It is being used all across our company and I have recommended it as a valuable tool for our suppliers as well.
We have been very impressed with the results".
MatrixOne delivers AutoVue as the visualisation solution for eMatrix and the Value Chain Portfolio of applications including MatrixOne Supplier Central, MatrixOne Engineering Central, MatrixOne DocuManagement Central, and MatrixOne Team Central.
The thin-client architecture with no client-side install and advanced streaming technology allows users to view and markup over 200 2D/3D CAD, raster, vector, hybrid and office document formats directly from within a web browser.
Formats include Catia, Pro/E, Unigraphics, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Inventor, JT, AutoCAD, MicroStation, HPGL, Gerber, PDF, TIFF and MS Office.
