Emerson has selected Cimmetry's AutoVue System as an enterprise-wide standard for reading and redlining engineering documents built on disparate software platforms.

Emerson, a $15.5 billion leader in technology and engineering products and services, has 60-plus divisions, 120,000 employees, and operates 380 manufacturing locations around the world.

Cimmetry's AutoVue System, which is compatible with more than 200 software packages, will allow Emerson to share engineering-related documents internally - as well as with customers and suppliers - faster and less expensively.

"After thorough review, we found Cimmetry's technology to be sophisticated, versatile, and scalable", said Randall Ledford, Emerson Chief Technology Officer.

"AutoVue will enable us to bring our products to market faster - better using technology to share more information about our engineering projects with more stakeholders throughout the entire development process.

The system will foster collaboration and help us realise more efficiencies".

Cimmetry agrees that the Emerson partnership will be mutually beneficial: "Emerson chose to form a global relationship with us based on our technology and our reputation of standing behind our products", said John Rogers, Senior Technical Officer at Cimmetry.

"We couldn't be more pleased".

Emerson stakeholders will be able to view and mark-up 3D CAD parts and assemblies, 2D CAD drawings, EDA layouts and schematics, scanned and raster documents, vector files, office documents and graphics.

Formats supported include Solid Edge, Unigraphics, CATIA, Pro/E, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MicroStation, HPGL, Gerber, Microsoft Office, Visio, PDF, TIFF, and hundreds more.
