Digital mockup environment hits the streets
Cimmetry Systems has begun shipping AutoVue 18.
Visualisation software runs on Unix servers
The Client-Server Edition of AutoVue 18 is now available for versions 8 and 9 of Sun Solaris servers.
AutoVue 18 will be released this month.
Virtual prototyping using AutoVue's Digital Mockup, delivers real engineering solutions from the safety of a virtual environment.
With AutoVue's DMU tools, designers can simulate models and assemblies on-the-fly and project real-world manufacturability without the expense and time associated with conventional physical prototypes.
Features include: the ability to combine MCAD parts and assemblies of different formats including Catia, Pro/E, UG, SolidWorks, Inventor, JT, Solid Edge and more; the ability to combine native mechanical and electronics files; precise part alignment by easily defining constraints; interference and clearance checking; save all mockup and state information; 3D BOMs (bills of materials); and user-defined co-ordinate systems.
"Cimmetry was first to market in providing the ability to view and collaborate on both native mechanical and electronics product data regardless of format from a single application", said Pam Petropoulos, Marketing Manager at Cimmetry Systems.
"Now, with AutoVue 18, we break new ground by combining MCAD and ECAD designs into a comprehensive digital mockup, all the while retaining the embedded intelligence and attribute data of the original files".
AutoVue 18 adds support for many new formats.
All new features and formats are available in both the desktop and client-server editions of AutoVue and integrate seamlessly with PLM, ERP, EDM or document management systems.
AutoVue allows users to view, markup and collaborate in real time on over 450 native formats from a common user interface.
Available in both Desktop or Client-Server Editions, the product allows users to access and provide feedback on critical product data, regardless of format, either locally or over a network/Internet.
The AutoVue API is also available to OEM partners wishing to add visualisation, markup, DMU and real-time collaboration capabilities to their products.
To download a fully functional evaluation version, try an online demo, or schedule a real-time collaboration meeting using AutoVue, visit the Cimmetry website.
