Sensors take to the sea
Contrinex introduces marine-standard inductive sensors with a V4A stainless steel housing that is impervious to sea water and salt spray and will not rust even in extreme maritime environments.
As a result, they can withstand extreme impact, high shock levels and are resistant to almost any chemical stress.
In addition, the use of new, patented, sensor technology known as Condet produces a sensing distance that is three times that of conventional sensors and is stable over its full temperature range from -25 to +70C.
For example, the new M8 non-flush sensor has a sensing distance of 6mm.
The ruggedness and sensitivity of the Series 700 makes it suitable for universal applications, but it is ideal for aggressive manufacturing environments, such as the automotive industry.
Condet operates on ferrous magnetic metals as well as nonferrous metals that have a good level of conductivity and detects all these metals at roughly the same distance.
This means that it will sense aluminium at the same position as steel and thus resolve a long standing issue encountered in the automotive and manufacturing industry of part detection when handling alloy products.
At this time, the M8 size is only available in nonembeddable format but is available in both embeddable and nonembeddable formats in M12, M18 and M30 sizes.
