A new version of the Contrinex 3065 DIN-rail-mounting fibre-optic amplifier has much increased switching frequency, making it ideal for sensing small parts moving at high lateral speeds The 3265 version has a switching frequency of 5kHz compared with 1.5kHz of conventional sensors

This provides extremely fast response enabling it to detect small, fast moving targets and the sensed signal can be delayed, inverted and stretched to suit different applications.

Signal strength indication is provided from a bargraph display.

Available for DIN rail mount and screw mounting format, the housing width is only 10mm and so is ideal for stacking large numbers where space is at a premium.

In addition, the unit can be removed from the front of the rail without disturbing other components.

This range of Contrinex amplifiers uses quasi-logarithmic digital potentiometers that increase sensing accuracy, range and switch-point stability.

Unlike most conventional systems there is no sensing blind spot.

The sensing distance can be set over a range of 20 to 140mm in increments of less than 1mm.

Like other amplifiers in the range, the 3265 series is simple to operate.

It is fully programmable, and the sensing distance is set by one of two "teach-in" modes.

"Teach 1" only senses the target and ignores the background for maximum performance, whereas "Teach 2" identifies both target and background, and so is ideal for demanding applications where there is little signal difference between target and background.

Additional fine-tuning is by manual control.

The system automatically maintains hysteresis proportional to sensing distance and adjusts light output to compensate for LED and fibre-optic deterioration as well as dirt buildup.

Protection is to IP64.
