Long-life valves and fittings deliver
offshore
Hoke Gyrolok compression fittings, instrument valves and manifolds in materials including 316 stainless steel, Duplex, Titanium and Hastelloy are being used in the Asgard offshore project.
The bigger things are, the more critical small parts can be And you don't get much bigger than Norway's Asgard offshore oil and gas project, said to be the most extensive subsea development ever undertaken

High temperature ball valve gives long service
The Hoke 7188 ball valve, added to the Flomite 71 Series of two-way integral panel mount valves, features floating ball design, encapsulated seats and check seals for extended leak-tight cycle life
In addition to 57 wells and 300km of in-field flowline, the project comprises both the world's largest production vessel and the world's largest floating gas platform, plus a large floating storage ship.
Statoil and project supplier Teamtrade standardised on the use of Hoke Gyrolok compression fittings, instrument valves and manifolds in materials including 316 stainless steel, Duplex, Titanium and Hastelloy.
With oil flowing since Spring 99 and gas coming on-line this year, Teamtrade has highlighted long cycle life and savings in maintenance costs as main benefits of the Hoke products, plus competitive price and delivery terms.
Easy installation and assembly procedures were additional advantages, and storage costs have also been reduced by the ability to select the correct material relevant to critical applications and limiting the variety and numbers of components needed.
Hoke valves and fittings were specified for the working life of the field after evaluation of their performance on the Norne production vessel.
Selection demands included high pressure and temperature, corrosion resistance and meeting NACE requirements.
