Manifold redeveloped for leak-free performance

A Circor Instrumentation product story

Hoke 88BA series eight-way manifolds offer leak-free and safe air distribution.

Hoke 88BA series eight-way manifolds offer leak-free and safe air distribution.

The new manifolds have been developed by Circor Instrumentation as a more reliable alternative to traditional designs and using quarter-turn plug valve technology machined into a single block, with 300lb/in2 maximum operating pressure.

With air distribution manifolds historically made using basic components due to their low-pressure nature, Hoke sought the alternative design when asked to develop a product that reduced the number of connections, was leak-free after many cycles and could also offer safety features preventing accidental operation.

The 88BA manifold's trip-proof valves cannot be accidentally operated or removed, unlike some plug valves designs where removing the handle allows the plug to be pushed out of the body, which can be a safety issue if still under pressure.

They give visual open/closed indication and are colour coordinated in green, which represents air.

There are no welds or screw threads apart from the inlet and outlet connections.

This manifold reduces the overall cost in installation, with low maintenance, eliminated downtime and a long cycle life.

It is already proving ideal in the offshore market.
