Jargon buster cuts through the ATEX jungle
ABB has published an "ATEX jargon buster" that helps motor users cut through the jungle of terms and definitions that make up the new ATEX Directives.
This includes influencing the enhancement of European airspace safety as well as chairing and participating in several eminent working groups.
He was presented with the trophy by Air Chief Marshal Sir Peter Squire at an awards evening in the Guildhall, London EC2.
Burtenshaw said: "I am extremely honoured and delighted to receive this prestigious award which recognises not only my contribution, but also that of the members of the various groups that I have been privileged to be associated with".
Jock Reid, a former CAA Chief Test Pilot, was also commended by GAPAN for his exceptional career in development flying.
He received the Derry and Richards Memorial Medal for his "outstanding contribution for the flight development of major aircraft to the advancement of aviation".
Reid said: "I am honoured by this award which should be seen as a reflection of the work of the whole Flight Department team at the CAA".
The GAPAN awards ceremony takes place annually to promote air safety and recognise outstanding performance by individuals or organisations.
