"Since implementing the CDS CAD solution in February of 2006, we are already seeing an average of over 850 downloads/month from our 18,000 CAD model library and over 10,000 sales leads already from CAD models downloaded by over 3000 registered users", said John M Winkler, JW Winco CEO.
"We and CDS wanted to find out what those CAD download customers thought - our survey revealed many terrific insights and we're delighted to share a few of these".
94% rated the usability of the JW Winco E-Store and 3D-CAD acceptable or better.
On average users saved over an hour's work by downloading the CAD model.
93% agreed that JW Winco 3D-CAD models helped them get their designs to market faster.
And 79% thought that 3D CAD model downloads are very or extremely important in their selection of a supplier.

"It provides more irrefutable evidence that online 3D models are an important sales and marketing tool for all industrial suppliers and distributors".
"With many customers moving from 2D to 3D CAD systems providing online 3D CAD model downloads often 'locks' products into a design so suppliers later benefit from the sales success of that design".
"Suppliers without 3D models on their website are at risk of losing customers to their competition who do offer 3D models".
Studies show that over 90% of designers and engineers now use the Internet to locate components for their new designs.
