Corrosion engineering specialist Corrocoat has entered into a landmark joint venture with Kirloskar Brothers, one of India's premier engineering groups and a world leader in fluid handling systems.

The two organisations - both leading names in their own fields - have joined forces to establish a new company based in Pune, India.

Known as Kirloskar Corrocoat Private, the new company will manufacture selected products from Corrocoat's range of industrial coatings under licence in India, opening up new opportunities for Corrocoat and Kirloskar and expanding the application potential for these high performance materials.

Exclusive manufacturing facilities have already been set up at Kirloskarvardi, the headquarters of Kirloskar Brothers, and forward planning and investment will allow for production to increase tenfold over the next few years in line with projected demand.

Charles Watkinson, Chief Executive for Corrocoat, underlines the potential for the new company.

"Corrocoat's business relationship with Kirloskar Brothers dates back more than a decade, as the company has been successfully applying our products under licence in India for many years".

"Investment in this joint venture opens up new opportunities to further expand our international business interests, whilst improved technical collaboration will play a role in expanding our capabilities and improving our services to customers worldwide", he stated.

Corrocoat has been established in the UK for over 30 years and enjoys a growing international reputation, with 30 subsidiaries and joint ventures across the globe.

The company develops, manufactures and applies a wide range of advanced coatings and composite materials used in industries including power generation, petrochemicals, marine, general process and water treatment.
