The Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence (CEME) has named Bill Williams as its new Chief Executive.

The Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence (CEME) has named Bill Williams as its new Chief Executive.

Williams joined CEME on 1st January 2007 from the Hethel Engineering Centre Norfolk.

In addition to his engineering, marketing and business qualifications he brings with him a wealth of general management experience gained at the Lotus Group in both the UK and North America.

He joins the board of CEME to push forward the company's contribution to corporate and individual upskilling in the Thames Gateway.

"CEME has made substantial progress, particularly over the last nine months, in establishing itself as a true centre of excellence in the key manufacturing, engineering and technology fields", said Alan Calder, CEME's Chairman.

"And Bill joins us at a key moment".

"We have, with our partners, ambitious expansion plans for the next few years, and Bill is the ideal person to drive us toward those goals".

Williams welcomes the challenge ahead of him: "The CEME campus is very impressive and boasts world class educational facilities - I feel privileged to have the opportunity to lead this business and I am looking forward to working with the chair, board, management and staff of CEME to make a reality of CEME's exciting plans for the future".
