Faster e-learning for MCAD and PLM

An iKnowledge Solutions product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 19, 2003

Cadpo has focused enhancements to improve ease of use, speed learning and increase retention rates for its i.get.it e-learning product.

Based on feedback from customer surveys and the future needs of online learning students, Cadpo has focused enhancements to improve ease of use, speed learning and increase retention rates for its i.get.it e-learning product.

Cadpo provides the only global, vendor-neutral knowledge management system to the design-centric and PLM industry.

"The latest technologies in i.get.it set a new standard in our industry", says Kevin Noe, president, Cadpo.

"E-learning leaders must focus their tools on providing the very best content in the latest technological manner.

Online students need multiple mediums to learn in as well as complete ease of use in every area of the product.

With this latest release, i.get.it's improved ease of use will help i.get.it customers learn engineering and manufacturing concepts quicker, as well as increase the knowledge they retain".

There are numerous enhancements in this i.get.it release but three significant new technologies help it define the industry standard for e-learning.

The first - called i.get.it Quick Starts - is part of Cadpo's "immersive learning" strategy.

Students can choose to learn certain concepts more interactively through movies.

As their name implies, they give students a quick start with audio and video-based lessons.

Students can also view Cadpo's regular comprehensive courses for more detail on concepts presented in the Quick Start movie.

The second is a new interactive interface developed in dynamic hypertext markup language (DHTML).

Cascading style sheets provide a tree-structured interface that improves learning organisation and interaction.

Dynamic frames eliminate the need for multiple windows.

In addition, i.get.it also uses Scorm-compliant extensible hypertext markup language (XHTML), which provides faster localisation as well as improved use of future e-learning technologies.

I.get.it was the first e-learning program in this industry to introduce course-building technology for complete customisation more than three years ago.

The third new enhancement in this release - Coursebuilder - pushes that technology to a new level.

Cadpo uses a new state-of-the art browser technology to enable interactive drag and drop for e-learning customisation.
