Indian engineers gain automotive CAD certification

The Society of Automotive Engineers and Cadpo have successfully launched two CAD certification courses through Kalyani Net Ventures in Pune, India.
The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and Cadpo have successfully launched two CAD certification courses through Kalyani Net Ventures in Pune, India.
SAE Automotive CAD Certification is the industry's only international programme that provides the standard for developing and measuring automotive CAD skills globally.
The courses were "Automotive essentials for Unigraphics" and "Automotive essentials for Catia".
The SAE Automotive CAD Professional is a design engineer who has mastered automotive essentials and one or more discipline certifications.
A total of 18 out of 20 students successfully passed the courses.
KNVL hosted a special Certification graduation ceremony on 20th July 2005.
"Automotive essentials is a must for every engineer who intends to have a career in CAD/CAM and desires to be recognised as an automotive CAD designer", said Jayant Lagu, CEO, KNVL.
"This programme is extremely important to the design and engineering community throughout India".
"Interaction with various senior executives in automotive companies in India brings out a very positive response as they feel that design and engineering skills will definitely improve in terms of quality and eventually reduce the engineering cost due to the introduction of SAE Automotive CAD Certification and training programme".

"With the increasing level of automotive design work done in India, it is important that these engineers have the highest level of design proficiency".
