Three members of staff from North Yorkshire engineering firm Claro Precision Engineering have completed this year's Great North Run to raise thousands of pounds for two national charities.

Company Director, Mike Lewis ran the race for the second time in support of the British Heart Foundation, in memory of a friend who died aged 41.

Factory Quality and Training Manager Mark White, participating for the fourth time, also ran in support of the British Heart Foundation.

Running the race for the first time was Milling Team Leader, Rob Tunnicliffe.

Tunnicliffe, who suffers from impaired hearing, raised funds for Hearing Dogs for the Deaf.

All three participants were fully supported by fellow Claro employees, customers, suppliers and friends who made substantial financial contributions prior to the event.

Commenting, Director Mike Lewis said: "The support from fellow colleagues, friends and business associates has been fantastic".

"We are all delighted to have successfully completed the run, and the money raised will go help the work of two very worthwhile charities".
