Claro Precision Engineering has acquired additional production space at its Knaresborough site to accommodate increased production in 2006.

Claro Precision Engineering has acquired additional production space at its Knaresborough site to accommodate increased production in 2006.

The extension of the premises by the company, which makes machined components, kits and assemblies for the medical, aerospace, instrumentation, military and microwave sectors, will facilitate the installation of new equipment.

Claro is confident that, with the capacity to take on more contracts, more jobs will be created.

The equipment, which will be installed in early spring 2006, will let Claro CNC mill items up to 1500mm.

Claro's Managing Director Martin Doxey said: "Our investments are constantly driven by what our customers need".

"The new production space is key to our long term plans for growth".

"It will enable us to win business as it gives us additional space to accommodate new equipment to service new contracts".

The latest announcement follows the purchase less than 12 months ago of a £250,000, five-pallet Matsuura horizontal machining centre which allowed the company to accommodate horizontal milling for the first time.
