The Colchester MultiTurn flat bed combination lathe has high levels of functionality and can turn a wide variety of different component types from bar, billet, forging or castings.

Demonstrating the ingenuity and programming capability of the Fanuc Oi TC control with Colchester Lathe-developed Manual Guide Oi assisted conversational programming, the Colchester MultiTurn flat bed combination lathe will be seen by visitors to the Autosport International Engineering Show as having high levels of functionality and being the ideal machine to turn a wide variety of different component types from bar, billet, forging or castings An important market for MultiTurn is the company that needs to produce single components such as prototype parts, make modifications and reproduce the cycle direct from memory for further parts or on a larger batch

This is why the MultiTurn has become a top-seller for Colchester Lathe due to its inherent flexibility and good turning performance based on a heritage of workshop and production machining - but most importantly, with the specification on offer, it is available for a very competitive price starting at under GBP26,850.

The MultiTurn 1000 to be exhibited by Colchestersales of Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire will be demonstrating programming and it's very easy-to-set capability.

Here, Colchestersales' application engineers will be inviting visitors to challenge them to produce a program on the spot.

Methods available will be direct input as if from a drawing, using teach and repeat with the two electronic handwheels, or directly on-screen using the highly acclaimed toolpath graphics.

The machine can also be programmed using ISO, or downloads via DNC.

MultiTurn 1000 has a swing over the bed of 350mm which extends to 535mm when the gap bed is utilised.

Between centres dimension is 650mm and the 200mm chuck is powered by a 7.5kW, 15 to 3250 revs/min spindle drive.

Fitted with an eight-station automatic turret, full advantage can be made of the auto-cycling repeat sequences, combining a range of tooling to perform all normal CNC lathe operations.
