Castell has a new range of trapped-key safety interlocks with very high mechanical specifications.

Castell has a new range of trapped-key safety interlocks with very high mechanical specifications.

The new interlocks meet the need for safety systems that control access to hazardous machinery in hygienic food and pharmaceutical production areas, and in corrosive environments.

With casings, internal components and keys all made from high-grade stainless steel, these locks are designed for long service in corrosive atmospheres.

Interlock switches are sealed to IP65 and they will accommodate routine hosing down with water jets in aseptic process areas.

The high mechanical strength of these new interlocks is also a benefit for safeguarding machinery subject to abrasive dusts, vibration and mechanical stress.

The entire range of Castell trapped-key interlocks for controlling switchgear and machine guarding access are available in the all-stainless specification.

Users can opt for the industry-standard "Figure" lock mechanism or the nonmasterable "Q" type disc tumbler lock.

The new stainless steel keys will operate conventional brass interlocks enabling integration with existing access control systems.
