Clyde Materials Handling have added an exciting new model to their family of Richard Simon nett weighers.
The new Electro-UBM weigher uses electronically controlled and driven actuators in place of the usual pneumatics and is the result of extensive customer collaboration.
Both filling speed and accuracy are claimed to be improved and the new weigher retains many of the key features of the standard UBM which have earned the product an enviable reputation for reliability and precision for more than two decades.
Traditional nett weighers use pneumatics to control key operations such as hopper door opening and closing.
Pneumatic actuators are relatively slow and inconsistent especially if air pressure fluctuates and ambient conditions change significantly during operation.
A further important consideration is the possibility of contamination through air lubrication leakage in such systems, which presents important concerns especially in hygienic food and pharmaceutical environments.
The Electro-UBM can be used to fill bags from 15-50kg and an easy-clean, food grade, stainless steel option is also available which allows rapid cleaning for expedient product line changes.
The weigher uses the company's tried and tested unique load cell module.
This allows the weigh pan to be simply supported without complicated anti-sway linkages with the load cell mounted remotely away from the material feed environment - the key to fast and accurate weighing performance.
The unit is controlled by the new Computapak IV weight controller which offers unrivalled ease-of-use, recording and reporting of discharged bag weights together with application flexibility.
