CMC Electronics Cincinnati has introduced a new high-performance infrared thermal imager - a compact, fully integrated unit with onboard data storage and comprehensive image analysis

CMC Electronics Cincinnati has introduced a new high-performance infrared thermal imager - TVS-8500.

The TVS-8500 integrates CMC Cincinnati's cutting edge defence technology and patented InSb focal plane array architecture to provide a multi-use platform for industrial, environmental and aerospace applications.

The TVS-8500 series provides users with a compact, fully integrated unit with onboard data storage and comprehensive image analysis.

The unit may also be operated remotely.

Five moveable cursors, vertical and horizontal profile lines are presented on the built-in 5" liquid crystal display.

Dynamic digital image enhancement and auto temperature ranging allow the users to follow critical temperatures over quickly changing scenes.

Real time recording capability allows 120, 30, 10, 5, 2 or 1 frame per second recording and playback of the thermal image.

This file may be copied to the compact flash card for permanent or temporary off-line storage.

Design features include: * 0.02C sensitivity with high-quantum efficiency - high-image fidelity.

* -40C to 900C (2000C option) broad thermal dynamic range - high system utility.

* 120 fps image acquisition - data collection for dynamic scenes.

* 14-bit capability (16384 cf.

typical 4096 levels) - dynamic image enhancement.

* Full onboard data recording and analysis - eliminates the extra PC.

* Built-in real time digital recorder and 5" color LCD.

* Integral compact flash card writer.

* Data output via IEEE 1394 Fire Wire PC interface.

* Intuitive hand-held mouse controller.

IR Thermal imaging is used extensively in applied research and nondestructive evaluation of mechanics and microcircuits, environmental airborne thermal mapping and product development.

The name Cincinnati has become synonymous with high performance in the field of IR imaging, long-range military surveillance and IR radiometers for deep space exploration.

The unique combination of 35 years experience in the manufacture and integration of infrared devices for commercial and defense communities, the ISO 9001 facility and CMC's extensive detector fabrication laboratories provide a fertile base for innovative engineering advancements.
