EconoCR optical character recognition software from Concepts In Computing has been chosen by National Instruments as the foundation for its industrial OCR offerings.

EconoCR optical character recognition (OCR) software from Concepts In Computing (CIC) has been chosen by National Instruments as the foundation for its industrial OCR offerings.

This CIC/NI alliance will accelerate the integration of proven OCR functionality into NI's array of computer-based vision and automation tools.

CIC's EconoCR enables companies to identify, match, sort, track, and verify products as they move through various laboratory, manufacturing, or material handling processes.

Typical applications for the EconoCR software include automatic reading of serial numbers or identification codes that are machine-marked on printed circuit boards/substrates/wafers, glass lenses and molds, electronic components and carriers, disk drive read/write heads, medical/dental devices and instruments, automotive or aerospace components, currency, and packaged goods.

EconoCR has also been proven effective reading liquid crystal displays and monitor readouts during automated test operations.
