Major new name in lead acid batteries

With effect from 1st April 2001, lead acid battery manufacturers CMP Batteries Standby division and GNB Technologies have joined forces to be known as Exide Technologies Network Power.

With effect from 1st April 2001 two of the largest lead acid battery manufactures have joined forces to be known as Exide Technologies Network Power.

This has come about as a result of CMP Batteries Standby division merging with GNB Technologies to form the world's largest lead acid battery manufacturing group.

Exide Technologies Network Power will manufacture batteries for Telecommunications, UPS, Utilities and other standby applications.

The new and larger business headquarters that will house all sales, technical and administration personnel will be in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

The Director of UK markets for Exide Technologies Network Power is Peter Meeds and Kevin Hiner is the Sales and Marketing Director.
