A range of low voltage switchgear assemblies, ready for installation and type tested according to DN EN60439, Part 1 (TTA), can be produced with the Hensel Mi-1000 range of components now available from Cee Norm UK These can be supplied to cover current ratings up to 1000A, with up to IP65 protection and class II, total insulation

The equipment is ideal for the self-build of distribution panels by suitably qualified personnel, while also providing the economic alternative for purpose built equipment where a customer need only provide a specification covering site requirements, and equipment loadings, together with operating and ambient conditions etc.

Typical applications have included the control and monitoring of railway platform lighting and wind farm generators, together with installations for car dealerships, exhibition centres, shopping malls, hospitals and even broadcasting stations.

The system is based on modular enclosure boxes, manufactured from high quality, impact resistant polycarbonate, which can be supplied in five standardised sizes ranging from 150 x 300 to 600mm square.

These boxes can be used horizontally or vertically and have been designed for assembly together as part of a grid matrix.

Boxes can be supplied with either transparent or opaque lid covers which can be hinged, or fitted with quick-action catches operated either manually or by tool operation.

For higher levels of security and operating safety, covers can be fitted with cylinder locks and optional tamper-evident lead sealing.

As well as empty boxes, enclosures can also be supplied pre-equipped with fittings and mountings to suit the installation of specific equipment including circuit breaker, kilowatt-hour meter, fuse boxes with or without switch disconnector, isolator boxes and thermal or magnetic MCCB circuit breakers, together with main distribution board equipment.

The busbar systems fitted are also fully EMC compliant, with generous wiring compartments for ease of cabling and interconnection.

Box walls are also supplied with metric knock-out cable entries in a range of thread sizes to suit cabling requirements.

The completed distribution panels are suitable for indoor or outdoor installation, with enclosure boxes assembled together using wedge links and self-sealing gaskets.

They can be floor or wall mounted, with external box-fitted brackets, a mounting profile strip or mounting frames used as required.

The thermoplastic polycarbonate used for the enclosure box and covers is flame retardant and self extinguishing, as well as being both silicone and halogen free.

The boxes and opaque covers have a standard RAL 7032 grey colour and provide chemical resistance to acid, lye, benzene and mineral oil.
