Cyon Research Corp has appointed Amy Rowell as an Industry Analyst and Editor-at-Large for the company.

Cyon Research Corp has appointed Amy Rowell as an Industry Analyst and Editor-at-Large for the company.

Rowell will be leveraging her extensive industry experience into the analysis, information and research services offered by Cyon Research.

"Bringing Amy into Cyon Research has been one of our goals for some time now.

We have a great deal of respect for her insight and industry expertise and are delighted to welcome her to our organisation", stated Brad Holtz, President and CEO, Cyon Research.

Rowell was most recently the Managing Editor of MCADCafe, a website for mechanical engineers and designers.

Previously, she has held positions at several industry publications including Editor of Cadence Magazine, and Senior Editor at Computer Graphics World.

She is also widely published in numerous other CAD, CAM and industry journals.

Rowell holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY, where she studied both industrial marketing and mechanical engineering.

As a Cyon Research Industry Analyst, Rowell will be part of Cyon Research's consulting team.

As Editor-at-Large, she will be investigating, reporting on, and providing commentary about industry changes and inflection points in the business of CAD/CAE/CAM/PDM and PLM for the mechanical and manufacturing industry.

Rowell's commentaries will be available regularly on CADwire.net and her in-depth articles and reviews will appear in Cyon Research's other publications including Engineering Automation Report and Extranet News.

Rowell will also be active in defining and developing a variety of other industry-specific online programmes and services aimed at addressing the needs of users: the people who are tasked with applying the latest engineering and design technologies.
