A-E-C Automation Newsletter is now AECnews.com, a web-based news service for decision makers in architecture, engineering and construction AECnews.com covers all aspects of technology adoption and use specific to architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), including plant design

Specific technologies covered include building information modelling and building lifecycle modelling (BIM and BLM), computer-aided design (CAD), business intelligence, plant-design software, project management, AEC-specific business application software, related applications of global positioning satellite (GPS) technology, digital signature software, computer workstations, output devices, networking technologies, and technology for data use on the job site.

"AECnews.com is a valuable resource for the AEC industry", said Kristine K Fallon, President, Kristine Fallon Associates.

"Thoughtful commentary and information on technology for the design and construction industry is hard to find".

"AECnews.com provides a much needed boost in news and communication for professionals".

The publication includes discussion of technologies for facilities management (FM) and the use of geographic information systems (GIS) as it relates to the practice of design and construction.

Emerging technologies that have an impact on AEC, such as 3D laser scanning and CAD-to-fabrication, are also an important part of AECnews.com's coverage.

Issues created by the use of technology in AEC firms, including technology adoption, the cultural aspects of technology use, industry best practices, collaboration, interoperability, business process re-invention, and technical standards will continue to the core of AECnews.com.

"AECnews.com will continue to provide valuable information to thousands of AEC professionals throughout the world that has previously been provided by A-E-C Automation Newsletter", said Randall Newton, Editor-in-Chief, AECnews.com.

"The restructuring and redesign creates a targeted publication to reach a wider range of professionals in the AEC industry".

AECnews.com (formerly A-E-C Automation Newsletter) was founded in 1977 by Ed Forrest, and was published until 2004 a subscription-based newsletter.

In February, 2003, the publication Construction Business Computing was acquired and merged into AECnews.

From 1st June 2004 AECnews changed to an advertising-supported, web-based publication format.
